The AIIS Sanskrit Summer program is ending on August 18th. On one hand, it means that I’m going to be reunited with my wife shortly afterwards. That, of course, fills me with exuberance. I can barely contain myself.
On the other hand, it means that I’m going to leave behind my teachers at AIIS and part ways with my companions of the past 10 weeks. I’m the kind of guy who gets attached to space for crying out loud! (See Moments in space.) Of course I’m going to miss my companions and my teachers. I’m going to miss them all, some more than others, but it is something none of them would expect.
I’ve declared Friday the 18th to be “The Day of Tears” in anticipation of the sorrow I’m surely going to feel.
