I’ve upgraded Avaktavyam to WordPress 2.7 but I have not yet upgraded the theme. So things may be readable but somewhat flaky for a bit. One thing which I know does not yet work is comment paging.

Site update
I’m going to be updating this site to the latest version of WordPress. It is likely that the site will be down for a bit and also it is likely that the theme will change. Unfortunately, I do not believe that the theme I’m using is very convenient to use. I had to fix several bugs in it to get it to work right and I doubt it has been updated to the latest WordPress version. Don’t be surprised if the location of the various interface elements changes.
Cleaned up the theme
As much as I liked the theme I selected to give a style to my blog different than the default style, I had some issues with it. I took 20 minutes today to make it more appealing to me. I especially disliked the font selection and I was not happy with the way the front page displayed recent posts. I like it much better now.
Moved to wordpress…
Well, the move to wordpress is for all intents and purposes done…
Anybody who gets feeds through RSS, Atom or whatever should go to the main page of the new blog, scroll to the bottom of the page and subscribe to the feeds that are down there. I’ve set up redirection from the old pages and feeds to the new site but there’s likely going to be some bugs in there…
Bye bye dotclear, hello wordpress…
I’ve decided to switch my blog software from dotclear to wordpress. Dotclear 1 is not good enough anymore. Spam management in particular is a real pain in the ass. Dotclear 2 has been in beta forever. WordPress gives me what I want and has a bigger community than dotclear.
The switch over won’t be instantaneous but sometime soon, I’ll switch and then I’ll be able to turn comments and trackbacks back on.
Comments [UPDATED TWICE]
Comments have been temporarily turned off. I’ve been hit by blog spammers. Once I find an efficient solution, I’ll turn them back on.
UPDATE: I’ve turned comments and trackbacks back on. Let’s see how well that works…
The site has also been upgraded to dotclear 1.2.4.
2ND UPDATE: I’m still fine tuning this thing. Sorry for the spammy trackbacks that passed through.
